Parent volunteers are the backbone of the PSEN, and the PSEN could never carry out all its programs without their help. Thanks to parent volunteers, we can do many wonderful things for Phusion and for our children. There is so much to do from running fundraisers, selling t-shirts, stuffing envelopes, serving on committees, and selling refreshments at performances, that each parent can help with as little or as much time as he or she has. Each hour of volunteer work has a ripple effect, and we need all of you!
We need volunteers on the following committees:
Communications Committee: provides information to all parents and students by informing all about the news and events at the center using tools such as calling post, email notifications, calendars, newsletters, etc….
Community Outreach: explores/organizes volunteer opportunities in the Atlanta area.
Costume Committee: aides in the ordering and/or assists with custom-made costumes for both Phusion performances and the Phusion-Harambee Dance Company.
Fundraising Committee: dedicates time and efforts in to carefully examining fundraising opportunities and make recommendations to the Phusion Administration on fundraising initiatives. This committee is the umbrella committee for all of the Phusion fundraising activities.
Marketing Committee: designs and prints materials such as flyers, brochures, posters, etc… to help promote Phusion, the Phusion-Harambee Dance Company and events held at or sponsored by Phusion.
Performances Committee: investigates performance opportunities across the Metro –Atlanta area and research-strives to sell advertising space to businesses and/or individuals in all programs for Phusion performances.
Production Crew: helps with all of the behind-the-scene props and set designs; includes building sets, providing lighting and sound support and capturing various events/performances via video and photography.
Scholarship Committee: – focuses on finding businesses and/or individuals to sponsor student scholarships in order to provide a performing arts education for under privileged and/or deserving youth.
T-Shirt Committee: – coordinates the student T-Shirt contest each year. Accepts submissions from students on t-shirt designs and recommends the best 3 to the Phusion Administration. Sell T-shirts at all of the Phusion performances.
To volunteer: please note your area(s) of interest and provide all contact information. The form may then be returned to Phusion (please place in Karla Fields mailbox which can be found near Andrea’s office).
All the PSEN committees above provide monthly reports to the PSEN board, and the PSEN board furnishes the Phusion Administration with a consolidated report in order to obtain approval.
